Why can't I see wine content in Thailand?

In Thailand, WineDragons serves the food side of the platform — recipes, private chefs, private dining, cooking classes and restaurants — and does not show wine or other alcohol content to visitors there.

Thailand's Alcoholic Beverages Control Act (No. 2) B.E. 2568, in force since 8 November 2025, restricts the advertising of alcoholic beverages. We have taken Thai legal advice on what that means for a platform like ours, and we have chosen the cautious reading.

In practice, for a request coming from Thailand:

• the wine catalogue, the wine cellar and the drinks catalogue are not served at all;
• wine posts do not appear in the community feed, and recipes are shown without their wine pairing;
• restaurants and bars are shown as places to eat, without the wines members drank there;
• Chef Nova answers about food, not about what to drink;
• we show no purchase links, prices or affiliate links for alcohol, anywhere;
• winedragons.com serves only its food pages in Thailand.

The filter runs on our servers, and it follows the country the request comes from — not your language and not your profile. A member who lives in Singapore and travels to Bangkok sees the food product for the trip, and their records are untouched and waiting when they get home.

This describes what we publish into Thailand. It is a choice we make about our own platform, and it is not advice about what you may do elsewhere.

Will the wine cellar come back in Thailand?

We hope so. The cellar as it is built today reads from our wine catalogue, which is the part the law restricts — so it is not something we can simply switch back on. We have put a specific question to Thai counsel: whether a member may keep a private record of the bottles they own, where every detail is typed by the member, the photograph is their own, and we never show our catalogue, our tasting notes, recommendations, or any sharing.

Until we have that answer in writing, the cellar is not available in Thailand. Nothing is deleted. If you already have entries, they stay on your account. If the answer allows it, we will build that private record and turn it on.

Everywhere else — Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the rest of the world — the platform is unchanged.
